Summary:

We are thrilled to extend our cordial invitation for contributions to the Symposium on "Photonic Materials, Devices, and Emerging Integrated Photonics," as part of 4th iiScience SPIE Int’l Conference scheduled on March 4-6, 2024, at Lahore College for Women University (LCWU), Lahore, Pakistan.
Photonics, truly enabling and an interdisciplinary field at the forefront of technological advancements, focuses on the generation, control, detection, and manipulation of light for diverse applications in industries such as communications (fiber & free-space), lighting, data-storage, medicine, and defense. As we transition from the electronics-dominated 20th century to the photonics-driven 21st century, the impact of photonics on society and industry is anticipated to surpass that of electronics. Indeed over quarter of century, it is the interplay of electronics & optics (optoelectronics) that has propelled the technologies including computing, tele-communication, internet and video and now various forms on artificial intelligence and energy harvesting and distribution enabled by photonics.
The symposium aims to bring together scientists, engineers, technologists, and industry experts to exchange ideas, discuss, and assess cutting-edge research, techniques, and applications in photonics. The scope of topics includes, but is not limited to, Photonics for Health & Safety, Photonics & AI, Photonics & Data Science, LED Lighting, Cameras, TVs and display technologies. It further expands to include Optical Communication, Photonics/Optical Networks based on Photonic Devices, Integrated Photonic Chips, Solar Cells. The other applications include, LIDARs for Autonomous Vehicles, Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) Communication, LiFi, VLC and so on.

Focus Areas and Scope:

This symposium presents a unique opportunity for participants from both industry and academia to engage with distinguished invited speakers, as well as leading scientists, engineers, and industrial experts actively contributing to the advancement of photonics technologies. Additionally, it offers a platform for young researchers, particularly students, to connect with the scientific community, explore potential avenues for advanced studies in multidisciplinary photonics, and gain insights into the latest global developments in photonics technologies, keeping them at the forefront of innovation.
